Oprah's new network OWN will be launched on Saturday, 1
January 2011. The OWN original programming is not only for 1st January
2011 but also they will be premiered during the first week of 2011. A
sneak peek of her network’s new shows such as Kidnapped by the Kids and
Miracle Detectives, a mix of original series, specials, original
documentaries and acquired movies is offered by Oprah. New shows of
network are allowed to speak for themselves by Oprah.
The new Oprah 24-7 cable network will go live with Countdown to OWN by replacing the Discovery Health Channel that will be no more. The aim of the campaign is to revitalize interest in the canal to slash through the recent forest of obtainable channels by exploiting popularity of Winfrey, while OWN is not Oprah all the time. OWN network will be available in approximate 85 million U.S. households.
The company of Winfrey’s Harpo Inc. and Discovery Communications starts the new channel in a joint venture. Oprah will not be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online in the programming but she will appear on the new channel for at least 70 hours of programming in 2011. An ad is included in the promotional campaign and that ad was released in American cinemas, where Oprah assures to carry her message “inspiration” to other network programs. The network will show you stories of strength, transformation, your health, your home and your relationships. Mission of Winfrey is to amuse, inform and inspire people to live their best lives. Oprah and Jay-Z (as a featured master) will Present Master Class premieres at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on 1 January. OWN will telecast back to back episodes of Season 25, “Oprah Behind the Scenes,” from 8 to 10 p.m.
Your Own Show, “Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star”, Dr. Phil, Ask Oprah's All Stars (with Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz and Suze Orman), Cristina Ferrare's Big Bowl of Love and Anna and Kristina's Grocery Bag are the new series set to be telecasted on 2, 5 or 7 January 2011. Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star will premiere on 7 January 2011, approximately over 15,000 people auditioned for this show.
