LulzSec hacked Sony Pictures Website Again

Sony Pictures’ website has been hacked by a group of hackers, LulzSec group (LulzSecurity). The Sony Pictures website was exploited through a SQL injection attack. More than 1 million users’ account information such as passwords, email addresses, home addresses, dates of birth, and all Sony opt-in data associated with their accounts have been compromised by the hackers. A SQL injection, one of the most primal and ordinary vulnerabilities, hacked SonyPictures.com similar to the SonyBMG hack.

LulzSec hacked Sony Pictures Website Again

All admin details of Sony Pictures containing passwords together with 3.5 million “music coupons” and 75,000 “music codes” are also compromised. Previous to it, Sony Company had to face hacker's attack in April and it fights to strengthen its security networks. LulzSec made known their exploit, part of a larger crusade, called "Sownage," on their own website and on Twitter. More than 1,000,000 customers’ passwords were stored in plaintext by Sony Company. The group revealed that 150,000 records copied in the attack.

Material taken from exploited databases for Sony BMG in the Netherlands and Belgium that included more information about website employees and users are included in the records. A MediaFire file downloads, the LulzSec website, and BitTorrent released the records. The MediaFire file had been "eliminated for desecration" in early Friday but the website of group was not available. Sony's protection of its security systems in a Congressional hearing is also followed by this hack.

As per the company, to inform customers about April attacks, it waited a week so the extent of the damage could be determined by it still; Sony's slowness is condemned by Congress. Many security procedures have been undertaken by the company since the original hack. However, the company's credibility is being hurt by statement of the news.
